Studio Rogier van den Brink, opgericht in 2019 en gevestigd in Zaandam, op het Hembrugterrein. Onze studio is een gecombineerd architectenbureau en houtwerkplaats.
Onze focus ligt op het verbeteren van wat al bestaat: natuur, de gebouwde omgeving, mensen en hun rituelen. Elk project begint met een grondig begrip van de context, waarbij we de vertrouwde architectonische taal uit het verleden opnieuw interpreteren.
In onze studio verkennen we materialiteit en vakmanschap via prototypes, modellen en meubels die worden geproduceerd in onze eigen werkplaats.

Duurzaamheid en gezond bouwen
Onze studio neemt een voortrekkersrol in op het gebied van lage koolstofemissies, bio-inclusiviteit en regeneratieve benaderingen. We zijn toegewijd aan het herdefiniëren van de rol van architectuur in het creëren van gezonde leefomgevingen. We geloven in lokale materialen, waarbij we het grote potentieel zien van natuurlijke materialen en vakmanschap.
Onze gebouwen worden gevormd door heldere ontwerp-concepten die zorgvuldig tot in detail zijn uitgewerkt. De materialen in onze projecten zijn het resultaat van een strategie waarbij we de voorkeur geven aan de lange termijn boven kortetermijndenken. We werken graag met robuuste maar aanpasbare constructies en eenvoudige maar prachtige materialen.
Our mission
Studio Rogier van den Brink, founded in 2019 and based in Zaandam, Netherlands, is a combined architectural firm and woodworkshop.
Our focus is to enhance what already exists: nature, the built environment, people, and their rituals. Each project begins with a thorough understanding of the surroundings, reinterpreting the trusted architectural language of the past. Throughout the process, we explore materiality and craftsmanship through prototypes, models, and furniture produced in our own workshop.
We are ambitious in our client services—attentively listening and offering carefully considered solutions to ensure an efficient and enjoyable process.
Our studio is pioneering in the areas of low carbon emissions, bio-inclusivity, and regenerative approaches. We are committed to redefining the role of architecture to create healthy environments. We believe in material localism, recognizing great potential in natural materials and craftsmanship.
Our buildings stem from legible design concepts meticulously worked out in detail. The materials in our projects result from a strategy of prioritizing longevity over short-term thinking, employing robust yet adaptable structures and simple yet beautiful materials.
Rogier van den Brink graduated cum laude from the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam. He has gained extensive experience as an architect and project manager in complex projects with office winhov and space&matter.
With support from the Stimuleringsfonds, he is working to document the history of local Dutch timber construction and what we can learn from it in contemporary timber construction. Additionally, he regularly lectures master students at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam.
